Butterfly Valves

Butterfly Valves

(OP)
I've been doing some research into butterfly valves lately. My industry is power plants and power production (B31.1). I have come across a range of face to face dimensions for wafer/lug butterfly valves via B16.10, MSS-SP67, MSS-SP68. Typically when I specify a valve the dimensions match up with B16.10 (high performance table) and MSS-SP68.

My questions stems from MSS-67. Where would a narrow, wide, and extra wide butterfly valve be utilized? Specifically the extra-wide. I have yet to find a thread talking about this so I thought Id get your opinion.

Thanks in advance for the help.
