Advantages of 'Spring Steel Flat Washer"

(OP)
Hello,
I recently came across a website supplying Flat Washers made of Spring Steel. I am wondering what is the advantage of using a Spring Steel Flat Washer over regular Low Carbon Flat Washer.
By using spring steel flat washer can we eliminate the need of spring washer??

I searched the site but did not find any discussion Spring Steel Flat Washer and I did not contact the website company yet...

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

RE: Advantages of 'Spring Steel Flat Washer"

Please post results you get from the washer company's website.
As a start, I imagine a spring steel washer is harder than a hardwares store washer, and of uniform thickness. Those are good things in my opinion, even if the washer is manufactured flat.

There are plenty of threads about various lockwashers. The "need" for a spring washer can be a very special case.

RE: Advantages of 'Spring Steel Flat Washer"

The purpose of a washer is to spread the clamping load of a bolt out over a larger area. The ability of a washer to do this depends on its thickness and yield strength. Spring steel has a higher yield strength so a higher load can be accommodated, or thinner washer can be used.

Kinda like those load spreaders on Chevy valve cover bolts (screws).
