Sphere Tee Pressure Loss

Sphere Tee Pressure Loss

Sphere Tee Pressure Loss

(OP)
Hi,

I am trying to find a typical Kv value or pressure drop across the branch of a standard Sphere Tee. I know they will vary, but am just after a typical value.

Does anyone have any information that could assist?

Thanks

RE: Sphere Tee Pressure Loss

Just use a standard tee. Normally the open area is at least the area of the branch, so for most purposes, you can use the tee. It's normally insignificant in the grand scheme of things

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

RE: Sphere Tee Pressure Loss

The most comprehensive information on hydraulics of tees you can find in the book "Pipe flow - a practical and comprehensive guide" by D.C. Rennels and H.M.Hudson (see attached extract) and in the "Handbook of Hydraulic Resistance" by Idelchick - the old version is available here: http://pbadupws.nrc.gov/docs/ML1220/ML12209A041.pd...
