Modeling wind gusts in NX

Modeling wind gusts in NX

(OP)
Hello

I am looking to model wind force on a structure model I have created in NX. The force I am looking to model is a gust of wind of 100mph for 3 seconds. Is it possible to model this with the 3 second time factor? Suggestions for how to get started?

Thank you.

RE: Modeling wind gusts in NX

Hello,

If your modeling objective is to study the structure's integrity, then you can use NX Advanced Simulation.

Consider whether you want to do a fluid dynamic analysis or not, as below:
Option1: Do a CFD analysis to get the contact pressure at the surface of the structure. Then map the contact pressure onto the structural mesh of the model for structural analysis.
Option2: Directly apply a pressure loading (that represents the wind load), onto the structural mesh of the model for a structural analysis.

Kind regards,
Tuw
