Any ideas for why I am getting this error?
I have drawn the truss in AutoCAD and imported it as a single part, assigned material/section, made the assembly, applied test loads and BCs at each end and a mesh. I am new to ABAQUS so would be great if someone could check over my project file so I can apply different load conditions.

RE: Too many attempts made for this increment - 3D Truss

Change the step to linear perturbation static and you'll get a result. It looks like you have a lot of buckling. Check your unit system and all input data.

As Mustaine said check your unit system. The structure units are in mm and the rest of your parameters are in m. Your structure have 190km!
