Generate Stress-Strain curvefor an entire part

Generate Stress-Strain curvefor an entire part

(OP)
Hi all,

I am new to Abaqus and trying to generate a stress strain curve for a cylinder I have generated. I am fixing the cylinder at one end and displacing the other. based on my research it seems the best method is to constrain a reference point to a surface using equation constraint in the interaction module. Next to take the resultant force R33 and displacement U3 and calculate the the values for the curve. I looked into this, and the Abaqus tutorial says to literally have an equation to plug into the software. How do I know what kind of equation to use. Can you help me understand how to use equation constraint and what kind of equation I need?

RE: Generate Stress-Strain curvefor an entire part

You can use coupling constrain. Couple RP with the surface if you want surface to have the same force/displacement applied as for RP.
