Using Model File Name to Autofill Title Block

Using Model File Name to Autofill Title Block

(OP)
Hi all,

I have a part model and I wanted to automatically fill in elements of the title block using only portions of the file name. The file name is in the format Base_Number-Part_Number-Part_Rev.PRT. Is it possible to break those individual sections apart so that I can create a title block that will automatically input the Base_Number string for the drawing number and Part_Rev for the drawing revision? I have seen options like <W@$SH_MASTER_PART_NAME> and <W@$SH_PART_NAME> from this thread [http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=228567] but haven't seen anything that will allow me to break the string for the file name apart. I am currently operating NX8.

Thanks, Austin
