Re-use pattern: Part Replace

Re-use pattern: Part Replace

Re-use pattern: Part Replace

(OP)
Hi,

I have used Re-use pattern for inserting a Part in an assembly at multiple places without additional constraints.
The problem arises when I try to substitute a different part in place of the original, in the assembly. It doesn't allow me to replace.

What could be the problem? Any work-around?

Thanks in advance...

RE: Re-use pattern: Part Replace

I do not know why it would not let you replace the part.
First thing to check is that you are trying to replace the initial part that you patterned and not one of the patterned parts.
The issue you will more than likely run into is that when you do get it replaced, it may not come in with the same orientation as the initial part.
When i did this, my constraints blew up and I had re apply the links to the new part, but after I reapplied the links, everything worked.
If you can not get this to work, I would just delete the details you are trying to replace and insert the new part in and do another reuse pattern on the detail.

This is the error I get, while updating parts using re-use component.

Please help me.

Thanks in advance...
