Can't delete item in TCe. BOM VIEW problem.

Can't delete item in TCe. BOM VIEW problem.

Can't delete item in TCe. BOM VIEW problem.

(OP)
Hello guys.

We are having some difficulty to delete one item inside TCe. Let's call it as ITEM_A.

The TCe indicates that this item is still referenced inside other item. This other item can be named as ITEM_B

When we check ITEM_B under structure manager, its BOM VIEW doesn't show ITEM_A inside it.

Trying impact analysis on ITEM_A revision, it shows a link to a BOM VIEW named ITEM_C, and then link it to ITEM_B.

This is the weird situation. This BOM name ITEM_C does not exist in our TCe.

Any help on this?

RE: Can't delete item in TCe. BOM VIEW problem.

You should be able to find Item C when you drag it form impact analysis to my teamcenter...if not then you most probably don't have the rights to see it...
What about your dba?

Hello nutace.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't believe that it is the problem. We don't have any protected item type in our TCe. Everybody with TCe access can view all items available in TCe.

Unfortunately we don't have a DBA now. He was fired in december 2015 with other 600 guys. Things are bad here in Brasil. I'm the one more closely to an DBA for now, and I'm far away to be that guy.

It is weird to me that you can have a BOM VIEW item with a number pointing to an item with other number.

I'll try to put an image of impact analysis here for better comprehension of scenario.

*** Edited ***
OK, the image shows item 1 (the one that I'm trying to delete) and it is linked to BOM VIEW of item 2 and this BOM VIEW is linked to item 3.
Why the BOM VIEW (item 2) has a number and item 3 has another number? This is supposed to occur?
When you check item 3 directly, is has its own BOM VIEW, with it is the same number of item 3, and not item 2 number.
I believe that this is the issue that is causing my problem to delete the item 1.

Thanks again

Okay...As normal users it is not possible to delete an item which is used in assembly...
you first need to remove it from any assembly where it is used...

Yes nutace. I'm trying exactly to do that.

I've figured out that the image I tried to upload on previous message are not showing.

Trying to upload again.

This component is only used in one place (BOM VIEW item 2) and this place not exists in our TCe.

What option did you use in the impact analysis? Where used or where referenced?

RE: Can't delete item in TCe. BOM VIEW problem.

Could it be referenced by an old sequence in Tc?

I used referenced option.

Then it doesn't necessarily have to be used in that assembly..it probably is the reference "based on"...
The original where it was copied from...

If you want to make sure use the Where Used option. This will show you in which assemblies the part is used...
