non conforming mesh
non conforming mesh
(OP)
Hello,
i'm currently using ls-dyna to model a dam, the reservoir and the foundation. I've seen in several dams models that is not necessary to have a conforming mesh between the reservoir-dam-foundation. Nevertheless i want to know if it is possible to have a non-conforming mesh between the different blocks of the dams. Because it is a gravity dam, each block should perform independently. Because it is a 3d model of the entire dam is difficult to have a conforming mesh even in the same blocks. I want to do a meshing refinement (figure attached) but i want to know if it is possible to do it with ls-dyna and which is the solving method the software uses when it's a non conforming mesh. Thank you
Rocio
