Clash analisys problem
Clash analisys problem
(OP)
Hi there,
I am building an assembly with sub-assemblies and parts. In order to do that I made a "base" part, a Skeleton where I created many parameters and all sketches to later copy-paste them in the parts with links. I tried to be as tidy as I could.
The product is pretty compact, I am designing the air around the parts. So there are plenty of "zero contacts".
To model the air volumes I create the envelope (with the sketches from the skeleton) and then copy paste with link the bodies of the parts which are inside. Then with a subtract boolean operation I take all these bodies out leaving me to have a tight design.
There is a part (a 125 microns pipe, divided in 4 separated sections) which is giving me lots of problems, when executing a clash analysis it is always there.
This doesn't make sense to me, if it was removed from the volume it shouldn't be there.
Attached two captures of the clash analysis.
I tried to repeat the operation, divide the problematic part in small ones, check the links... I don't know what else to do
Anyone?
thanks

Here are the files:

the main assembly is "__16-02-19_setup_10.CATProduct"
thanks
RE: Clash analisys problem
I would try something like below (I wouldn't use assembly features, but maybe is just me, learned with some companies rules...).

RE: Clash analisys problem
So if I understood correctly:
- You have created a Part from a Product
- You have made a body (adding all the bodies in the created Part)
- You have subtracted the this Part from the "cylindrical part"
The problem I see is one loses the links when creating the Part from the product.
PS: I am very interested in knowing about company rules regarding Catia. Is there any public list of any company? Or a list with good practices.
I have heard about the assembly features; in this case is just for making captures with half volumes of some parts. When using Sectioning one can not choose which parts/assemblies to cut (in theory yes, but in the end everything is cut).
thanks!
RE: Clash analisys problem
For the good practices there are few threads here in the forum, just use the search button. Each company can have their own rules, some of them prefer to work with links , others without any External References.
