Clearance between sprinkler pipes and ceiling

Clearance between sprinkler pipes and ceiling

Clearance between sprinkler pipes and ceiling

(OP)
Hello,

I want to ask if there is a section in NFPA 13 that specifies the minimum and maximum clearances between sprinkler pipes and adjacent walls and ceilings. Also, does NFPA 13 mention the clearance/distance required between sprinkler pipe supports (e.g. hangers) and the ceiling above? I looked into chapter 9 which is about pipe supports but couldn't find such info. I'd appreciate it if someone could direct me to such information whether it's in NFPA or some manufacturer's catalogue, etc..

Thank you,
Steve

RE: Clearance between sprinkler pipes and ceiling

There are no minimums for pipe in 13. CPVC has listing requirements in their data. Steel piping does not.

As for hangers, nothing required in 13 if I read your question correctly. There are maximum distances Between the hangers, but nothing about from the ceiling.
