Regarding Spline curve

Regarding Spline curve

Regarding Spline curve

(OP)
Hi all,
In Catia, we have tension option for spline. Is there any similar option in NX8.5 ??

RE: Regarding Spline curve

Can you add more information on what this tension option is/ does ?

Regards,
Tomas

Hi

Tangent tension defines the tension value or weight that the tangent direction has. A higher tension value results in the spline being pulled more in the tangency direction.

Isha

RE: Regarding Spline curve

Is this variable available when you do splines through points or Splines by poles ?
Is it available at each point or only the ones which have a tangency defined ?

In NX you can define the "tangent magnitude" by dragging an arrowhead or entering a value, IF you have defined a tangent direction.
Right click a spline point,- define constraint, then three handles will appear, One spherical handle which can be used to define the tangent direction, an opposed arrow for the tangency magnitude and a normal arrow for the curvature ( Radius).

Regards,
Tomas

RE: Regarding Spline curve

Is it possible to have asymmetric tangent magnitude in a point in NX? I see only symmetric option in NX 7.5 and I do not have access atm on higher versions.

Thank you Tomas:)

RE: Regarding Spline curve

Ivan:, Asymmetric tangents, not to my knowledge. I wonder how the curvature would look if we did this. (?)

Tomas

RE: Regarding Spline curve

Tomas: it works in vector graphic software, and it gives fine solutions.
