Solidworks sketch to Abaqus

Solidworks sketch to Abaqus

Solidworks sketch to Abaqus

(OP)
Hi there,

I am doing a project to model a jack up leg sketch in Solidworks 2014 and importing its ACIS file into ABAQUS 6.12. Would like to only import the lines as a 3D truss only from Solidwork and later input all section properties in ABAQUS.

However this error message keep coming out: " The file cannot be read. It may be corrupt or not a valid ACIS file. The import may succeed if you select different options in the Create Part from ACIS File dialog."

Thanks for your help

Thanks IceBreakerSours for your quick reply.

I have tried both .sat and .step formats but both gives the same error. However when i tried to input structural member and import to Abaqus, it work whit the following error message.

Furthermore, I would only like to input the lines into ABAQUS and later input the section and material properties in ABAQUS itself.

Thanks!
