P&ID RISK ANALYSIS

RE: P&ID RISK ANALYSIS

Pressure units non consistent (mix of bar and psi, SI with gallons etc)
Compressor discharge pressure apparently confused with MAWP
bar and barg again mixed up. "bar" is absolute... seems very sloppy.
Why killing pressure from 6.6 to 1.2 barg, that's a lot?
Potential risks?
What type of compressor is this ? recips or diaphragm type ? I expect many stage with intercoolers going from 1.2 to 243 bar. This is not shown?
Why PSV only on the suction pot ?
I don't see pulsation bottles unless you use the knock out pot for same purpose, what about discharge?
Flange in and flange out of compressor cylinder should have same pressure rating I'd expect.

My two cents

RE: P&ID RISK ANALYSIS

think you should consult a professional instead of doing what you are doing.

RE: P&ID RISK ANALYSIS

There seem to be something wrong with the order of magnityre for your compressor? You go from 1.2 bar (gauge or?) to 243 in one stage - with no ithercooling or anything? But then again, im not used to Helium. He is rarely pure? At these high pressures i would be concerned with the contaminants. If its N2 or some other inert gas i wouldnt be concerned but O2 or CO2 might give corrosion concerns if there is water also?
