paperboard pressing in solidworks?
paperboard pressing in solidworks?
(OP)
So I have a 3D model of a tray made from paperboard and I need to flatten it. The thing is that the corners of the tray need to be creased so it would bend correctly. I don't know how to really explain it better so the image in the attachment explains it a whole lot better.
And to recap a little I have 3D model that I need to flatten, but the thing is that the corners are creased to the sheet metal function in solidworks doesn't do the trick (as far as I know) so does anyone know another program that could do this or is it possible in solidworks?

RE: paperboard pressing in solidworks?
Once flattened you can model the creases to follow the bend lines. However, modeling the creases might not be necessary depending on what your overall needs are. Like threads, usually a standard note is preferred over modeling the actual detail. I would hope that your drawing could note to put the creases at some stated depth along the bend lines rather than having to actually model them.
