NX/Nastran Solution 401

NX/Nastran Solution 401

NX/Nastran Solution 401

(OP)
Hello,

I'm triyng to perform a coupled thermo-mechanical simulation with NX/Nastran multiphysics (SOL401) with NX10.

This is the first time I try a coupled thermo-mechanical analysis with solver 401 (I've already performed a coupled solution first by a thermal solution and then importing thermal data solution (node temperatures) in linear structural analysis (SOL101)).
The thermal solution was a stationnary solution.

But with SOL401 I've many problems. I want to simulate a cylinder that is locked at the ends (u=v=w=0, rotations not locked because 3D mesh) and a thermal load (temperature) is applied on the external surface of the cylinder.
I want to know the strains, stresses and temperatures during time (SOL401 is a non-stationnary solution if I'm not wrong).

I have two problems :

1. If I apply a temperature load, the temperature load is always "not active". I tryied to activate this load temperature but NX doesn't accept.

2. I'm not able to create time steps. For example, in SOL601 in "modelling object" it is possible to add "Time Step" and we can choose the number of "Time Step" and the value of them. But in SOL401 in "modelling object" it isn't "Time Step", so I don't know how add "Time Steps". Maybe we don't need "Time Steps" with SOL401, but I find this not very logical because non-stationnary solution are time-dependent, so we need time steps.

If anyone that had already run a SOL401 analysis could help me, it would be fantastic bigglasses

Thank you and best regards !
