ETABS Pier Assignment

ETABS Pier Assignment

ETABS Pier Assignment

(OP)
Hi, I'm having an issue with ETABS. I'm trying to check the design of a series of shear walls in a 14 story building. as soon as I assign a pier label to a wall and try to save, I'm given this error: "Error Saving .EDB file. file may be incomplete. Index was outside the bounds of the array". I've attached the .EDB file with the openings where I plan to place the shear walls. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: ETABS Pier Assignment

Try exporting to e2k and then reimporting that same e2k. Sometimes ETABS has a hiccup and just reimporting from the text file can fix it.

If that doesn't work, hopefully you've got the service contract with CSI. If you do, send them your file and they can usually fix it for you.

RE: ETABS Pier Assignment

I agree with MrHershey. sometimes I change the name of the file and it works.
otherwise proceed as per MrHershey recommendations
