Gateway License Only in a Bat file

Gateway License Only in a Bat file

Gateway License Only in a Bat file

(OP)
We have been using bat files to maintain which license users have access too since NX7.5. We have just updated our NX9 to NX9.0.3.4 MP10. We have bat files to restrict some users to Gateway license only but in recent days it lets them into other applications too. The line in the bat file that we use to restrict Gateway only is "set UGS_LICENSE_BUNDLE=UG10100". Has this changed? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I've been trying to figure this out myself. I started in NX8.5 and would like to lock down quality computers to only gateway.

RE: Gateway License Only in a Bat file

Use a license options file.
There's a document in GTAC UGanswer, which explains how to use a license options file to do what you want:
Here's the link to it: https://solutions.industrysoftware.automation.siem...

RE: Gateway License Only in a Bat file

I don't know when Siemens put a registry key to control the Bundle selection. Look in your registry for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens_PLM_Software\Common_Licensing\NX_BUNDLES. If your registry contains this variable, you have to delete it, because the registry entry has a higher priority than the environment variable inside the batch.

NX 1 - NX 10

RE: Gateway License Only in a Bat file

As InvenioTr says, some genius at Siemens have decided to set the NX bundle in the Registry, which means that once you have set the bundle, the bat-file is useless.
The Options file seems to be the workaround. The problem is that you have to understand and learn how the options file works. ( I have done this and it was not self explanatory, but this was without the document Anthony linked.)

there is a thread about the license bundle in the registry at the Siemens forum.

Tomas

Tomas... do you have a link to the thread in the Siemens forum about license bundle in the registry?

We are checking into the registry entry too. Thanks to all!
