I'm currently taking a look at PMI, although I don't yet have the license.
Do PMI dimensions and annotations share the same settings as Drafting ?
For example, if my drafting dimensions and annotations are blockfont and blue, would my PMI drafting and annotations also be blockfont and blue ?

Typically, we have a black background in drafting and a graduated light grey background in modelling,

Yes, of course, it could be created in the model file.
I assume PMI can still be inherited into the drawing file, if needed?

RE: PMI Settings
I posted earlier today the following inquiry. Will definitely accept any PMI comments that may help us using it.
Our engineering group is working on a new large project in NX9 and we are just starting to use the PMI dimensions from the model to create the drawings. I noticed that when adding the model views with PMI in it that all dimensions, text, drafting entities are created inside the member view.
What drafting I have done so far with PMI has been rather cumbersome such as editing settings, removing appended text, relocating dimensions, etc. to create the drawing per our standards. We do plan to change our default setting to be able to edit these PMI dimensions from model to drawing and drawing to model and also update the PMI settings to closer match our drafting settings.
What I finally did was select the PMI dimensions in a view and copy-paste them to the drawing and re-associate to the features. This works very well and now all of my drafting entities our outside of the view on the drawing.
I have been using UG for 31 years and all drafting entities we create are outside of the view.
Is there any advantages/disadvantages to the entities being all in the member view versus outside of the view?

When adding the base view, do I have to select the model part?
