Question about sizing the pipe that serve laundry washing machine in hotel

(OP)
Dear All,
I need a reference or catalog that state the weight of clothes per room or person and how much water required per each kg or pound of cloth so i can size the main pipe that supply the laundry.

Regards,

RE: Question about sizing the pipe that serve laundry washing machine in hotel

Use this link for an excel spreadsheet to calculate the pounds.

You will also need to know what (and how many) washers are being specified.

Typical 40 lb - 50 lb washers that I have seen require 16 gpm.

I have never designed around the continuous washer/extractors - so if that is what you are designing around - I cannot help you.

And, you MUST expect all of the installed washers to be running at the same time.

Subtract a few psig off of the water pressure as well - some other residents will be taking showers and filling bathtubs at the same time as the three/four/five washers are running.
