NX10: Is there difference in loading time for assembly with empty ref sets and components suppressed
NX10: Is there difference in loading time for assembly with empty ref sets and components suppressed
(OP)
Hi All,
NX10 Question.. Is there any assembly loading time difference between when some components assembled with Empty reference set and same components are assembled as suppressed..
Iam trying to understand the scenario in respect to , I load the top level in NX with structure Only . it has 200+ components
Thanks for inputs..

RE: NX10: Is there difference in loading time for assembly with empty ref sets and components suppressed
If NX encounters a component "Empty reference set" it will "skip this" and load the next component.
If NX encounters a suppressed component, it will load the file but not display.
Empty reference sets are/ should be quicker than suppressed components.

Have you tried it ?
I have.
Of course , it's the case that IF instance 1 of component A uses reference set Model, but instance 2 uses reference set empty, NX HAS to load the file, but that's not the question.
The question is which loads faster. All instances of components A, B, C, D etc suppressed or all instances of Component A, B, C, D etc using empty reference set.
Create an assembly with 2 components. Comp_A and Comp_B
Create some solid body in each component file. Save all.
Suppress Comp_A and change the reference set to Empty on comp_B in the assembly .
Save all and close.
Open the assembly .
Read the NX logfile and you will find that NX has opened the assembly and Comp_A but not Comp_B.
