Make dwg file show in views
Make dwg file show in views
(OP)
Hello,
I have a 3d model file that is a component of the 2d drawing.
When I created the views, UGNX selected the 3d model when creating the view.
Now, when I create some points in the 2d drawing file (while in modelling mode), it does not show up on the views.
How can I make the points show up on the views?
TIA!

RE: Make dwg file show in views
In the example above, you would want to select the 12345_-dwg.1 file before placing the view.

RE: Make dwg file show in views
Select the view, RMB - View dependent Edit, " convert view dependent to model dependent" ( something similar )
Save the drawing before you do this in case it's wrong.

If the geometry is more complex or you need it to show up in multiple views, then a different method would be better...

RE: Make dwg file show in views
@Cowski, I make drawings a couple of times a year and I forgot about this. Did not notice when creating the views because the option was not "expanded" in the dialogue box. Unfortunately I have already created over a dozen drawings with dimensions on the views.
@Toost, Sorry it did not work.
The reason I like to create the points in the modelling side of the drawing file is to make sure that the location of the points is consistent on all the views. It also saves me from creating the points for each of the views.

Understood. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to convert views from the model file to the drawing file after they have been created.
