CODE TO BE USED

CODE TO BE USED

CODE TO BE USED

(OP)
Dear Gents,

We are constructing a coal-fired power plant, I was assigned for the coal silo/bunker fabrication area and i noticed that
the Vendor Drawings for construction did not specify on what code should be used.

Should this be under AWS D1.1?

Need your advise.

Thank you

RE: CODE TO BE USED

ianmontes,

Despite my own opinion regarding which code to use, your organization needs to identify the relevant fabrication code(s); This is a significant matter, and not a decision you should be making. In any case, consult your engineering group, as this needs to be clearly identified on the drawing and other relevant documents.

RE: CODE TO BE USED

For fabrication, unless specified otherwise, yes.

RE: CODE TO BE USED

D1.1 was used on all five of the new coal fired power plant, coal silos that I have been involved with.
