Curious on how to model friction between surfaces of shells or solids (both static and dynamic). CSI Wiki states to use gap link, but not sure it is actually applied. Can someone elaborate on this?? Shells or solids will be subjected to time-dependent loads and I'm after the displacements.

If you use a gap element you need to run a nonlinear analysis. Are you?

I have used the friction pendulum (I think that's the name of it. I forgot the name of the exact link type) to model sliding resistance of a building mat. It worked well. Key is telling sap to run that load case with the non linear solver.
