Pipeline coating integrity test

Pipeline coating integrity test

Pipeline coating integrity test

(OP)
Hi,
I would like to know about what practice, standard or normative test can we do, to ensure the integrity of the epoxy coating for a new pipeline after its laying on the seabed. The pipeline has no concrete coated.

On the seabed there is the possibility of ripping in some rocky areas and we want to ensure that the epoxy coating was not damaged during laying.

We know that electrical continuity test could be determined it, but we want to be sure if this is possible and what are the conditions and test parameters.

If you have information to help me in that regard, I will be very grateful.

Thanks in advance

RE: Pipeline coating integrity test

Normally a protective PE coating, sometimes two or even more layers, is applied on top of the FBE, with concrete coating on top of that for buoyancy control. Was that not the case here?

I suppose you can check the voltage and current draw on the anodes.

RE: Pipeline coating integrity test

Post lay survey - visual and CP. Check DNV-OS-F101 and ISO 15589-2.
