Imperial Dimensions with metric in Parenthesis

(OP)
Hi all,

In drafting, does anyone know if it is possible to dimension in Imperial but automatically add metric dimensions also in parenthesis (brackets) or does it have to be added manually?

Thanks in advance...

RE: Imperial Dimensions with metric in Parenthesis

Yes it is possible. See image.

Hi again, I can't seem to find this in NX7.5
Anyone still using it?

RE: Imperial Dimensions with metric in Parenthesis

This is NX8. It is very similar in 7.5.

Try Preferences/Annotation from the menu. Then on the Units tab, at the bottom you can set the dual dimension format and units.

Thanks to both of you- I'm sorted now I was looking in Customer defaults!dazed

RE: Imperial Dimensions with metric in Parenthesis

If you're going to be doing this day in and day out, you may wish to change your Customer Defaults. The above only works for the part which you currently have open.

Also, NX has a search function (binoculars) built into the Customer Defaults to help reduce the amount of time spent looking around in there.

If you start your drawings from a template part, be sure to open the template(s), change the preference, and save the template part(s).

Also, there is an option to convert the tolerance of the dimension; in general, this is a good option to turn on.
