IGES to Parametric modelling

IGES to Parametric modelling

IGES to Parametric modelling

(OP)
Hi

i have imported IGES file to catia v5. the model is very far from co-ordinate axis.
i want all three planes or an axis system on model which has no link with IGES model. in case if i delete IGES model, it should not disturb my parametric model which i build with that axis system.
how can i do this?

Thanks

We can insert but don't know the coordinates of location to insert

RE: IGES to Parametric modelling

Hi,
The axis system and the planes should be available in the default position. You can bring the iges model to the origin...create the new model by extracting the surfaces ( break the link..by isolating the extracts ) and you can delete the old igs model after creating the new one.Hope it works.

there is location defined to every component in assembly so we can't move model to origin and build parametric model

RE: IGES to Parametric modelling

Hi,
Call this igs model in the assembly.Insert new part which will ask for a new origin point, define it on this model, create the required parametric model and if required, can delete the old model.Hope it works.
