If you're extruding a lofted profile from a rectangle (4 sides) to a polygon (20 sides) how do you control where the indentations show?

I don't care whether the answer is sheet metal specific or not, I can figure out the alternative.

Only option i can think of is to Split the rectangle into 20 individual segments - use the split tool.
