hey guys,

what are the education requirement for NICET level 1 exam. it must be for b.s. mechanical or technician diploma is also good to go?

RE: Education requirement for NICET 1 water based system? must be Bachelor degree or diploma is okay?

For the technician level, I don't believe there is an education requirement, just work experience. Are you doing technician or technologist certification?

thank you so much Travis for your help.can i ask you one more questions if you dont mind?
I have B.S. Mechanical degree, if i apply for Associate engineering technologist credit than do i still need to pass nicet level 1 and 2 exams? or can I take exam level 2 directly if i am mechanical engineering degree? AET credit is equal to NICET 2 certificate, is that correct?

RE: Education requirement for NICET 1 water based system? must be Bachelor degree or diploma is okay?

Not sure. I don't know if there is a technologist certification for sprinklers. It is the technician for sprinklers, I believe. If you have your BSME from an ABET school, you could just get the L1 and L2 in the next year or two, then by the time you are ready for your PE exam, you should be about ready for the NICET III. I would recommend by NICET and PE if you can.

Thank you so much for your great advice, it will help me a lot. just last question. sorry to bother you
how many days of reading requires to pass level 1 water system layout exam for the beginner designer? I am buying books from firetech?

RE: Education requirement for NICET 1 water based system? must be Bachelor degree or diploma is okay?

I got mine so long ago, I can't recall. I never used anything from firetech or any other company like that. If you know your job, you will be able to pass Level 1-3 without too much difficulty. You will need to have the proper reference material to look things up. The compound loop calcs in Level IV is challenging, but that is all. Just know where to find things and have a good idea of the concepts of your work. I honestly didn't study for Level 1 or 2. Level 3, I did a couple practice hand calcs of trees. Level 4 I did some practice calcs of compound loops.
