Layer States from AutoCAD to Draftsight

Layer States from AutoCAD to Draftsight

Layer States from AutoCAD to Draftsight

(OP)
Our R&D department started using DraftSight but our design department is saying that it can't switch to Draftsight because they have several large AutoCAD files they created a long time ago that make extensive use of AutoCAD layer states and that Draftsight doesn't support this.

I'm just an IT guy, so I don't know if this is true or not. If it is, does anyone know of a way to work around this?

RE: Layer States from AutoCAD to Draftsight

That's a poor excuse really! Layer states is only a quick way of turning layers on and off.

All it would mean is that someone would have to set them up again, no biggy really!

Certainly not enough reason to save the thousands in the cost that is does!
