Fundamentals of seismic design

Fundamentals of seismic design

Fundamentals of seismic design

(OP)
I am working on steel structures, more specifically pressure vessels. I use seismic codes. I came to think that I need to understand fundamentals first before I can apply the seismic codes correctly.
I hope someone recommend books or any other source I can start to study with this purpose.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Fundamentals of seismic design

Seismic Design Handbook by Farzad Naiem is an excellent reference.

RE: Fundamentals of seismic design

Another good reference is:

A. Chopra, Dynamics of Structures: Theory and Applications to Earthquake Engineering, 2000.

Tom Irvine

RE: Fundamentals of seismic design

Clough & Penzien / Mario Paz are also good books.
