Sap2000 - Apply load to null area to simulate wind pressure

Sap2000 - Apply load to null area to simulate wind pressure

Sap2000 - Apply load to null area to simulate wind pressure

(OP)
Hi,

I am having some problems when I use the option of defining a null area object, for instance between to columns (to apply wind load), and then use the option Area Load / Uniform to Frame.
The issue comes when I put diagonals between the two columns to better behavior for wind in the other direction. Basically when I put this diagonals, even though I define the null area object
as a rectangle between the two columns, when I display the load in frames it didn't only distribute the load to the columns, but the diagonals as well. Is there a way to fix this, or I would
have to apply the load directly to the column without the null area option?

RE: Sap2000 - Apply load to null area to simulate wind pressure

Select the diagonals. Assign -> Frame -> Load Transfer Options. Uncheck "Allow Load Transfer from Area Objects".

This feature is not available in earlier versions of SAP2000 (I don't know exactly when it was introduced).
