Integrating Designs in Revit

Integrating Designs in Revit

Integrating Designs in Revit

(OP)
Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone has experience in integrating between Architect and SE models in Revit 2015.

When operating in a shared file, I am aware of inserting a linked Revit model (say the Architect's file). However, this will not allow the walls imported to be connected to for structural members.

I know it's possible to copy link the Architect's walls and insert them, which will make them able to be connected to. However, with a central file and parties working separately (then uploading progress) I am unaware if there is a way to update the structural model, once the architect has updated the architectural/central model.

Thanks

RE: Integrating Designs in Revit

Research the Copy/Monitor tool. As a warning - it can be a little glitchy, especially when dealing with openings and varying wall heights. We've resorted to building our own model of the walls and updating manually since I've found that I don't like to rely on the architect to model things correctly for how they need to show up on our drawings. However, with Copy/Monitor you do get a warning when the wall is revised in the architect's linked file which can be really handy.
