I have put together an EXCEL VBA macro that creates a small SAP2000 V17 model. When I save the model and attempt to run SAP I get an error that reads "ERROR DIVIDING LINE ELEMENTS", and the only way I can close SAP at this point is to "END TASK" through the task manager window. the file then becomes damaged and cannt reopen in sap again.

this is a new thing it worked fine in the start

Any help and/or advice will be much appreciated, thank you.

RE: SAP2000 API

Dear Sir

I am going to analysis the pile deflection on SAP2000 for my fyp research. Firstly, i am using ALLpile to calculate the py curve, Tz curve and Qz curve and I insert the curve by [Define] --> [Section Properties]--> [Link Support Property] and then i choose [multiplastic] and enter such curves into U1(Z-direction) U2(X-direction) and U3(Y-direction) respectively. On the other hand, I insert a load case as [non linear]. After that i carried out the analysis. However, the deflection is highly different from the value that shown on ALLpile. Would anyone can help me? Thank You

I want to add the py curve as similar as the link shown below

RE: SAP2000 API

Sorry about that. I post my problem wrongly.

RE: SAP2000 API

I faced this problem before. Most likely, you forgot to assign section to one of (or all) line elements.

yes, that was it - thanks
