Weld Reinforcement Height Acceptance
Weld Reinforcement Height Acceptance
(OP)
Hi,
Can anyone explain what is acceptance criteria for welding reinforcement? I have actual weld reinforcement which is 20mm but in design it is 18mm. Please give reference also

RE: Weld Reinforcement Height Acceptance
What size of fillet or butt weld, and what diameter (or height and length) and thickness of what material?
(You have asked the equivalent of: "I have an old nut. What will it fit?)

What pressure, what temperature, what service, what fluid?

Now, the original poster has NOT provided pictures, nor much other information about his structural welds under question. We are ASSUMING he knows how to measure weld reinforcement.
RE: Weld Reinforcement Height Acceptance
Perhaps he is talking about a fillet weld? But those are sized by the leg length whereas the reinforcement is above the throat thickness, so I caution kawishkt to make sure he is measuring the right areas.
