FPF thread urgentttt!!!

FPF thread urgentttt!!!

FPF thread urgentttt!!!

(OP)
Can someone explain to me what kind of thread is the FPF.

Example:

Universal Union forged steel ASTM A-105.3000 #, FPF Thread 2 "

RE: FPF thread urgentttt!!!

Is it atypo and it's actually FPT? Basically a female version of npt.

It's not far on a keyboard from f to t...

Any other clues?

It is not a typographical error on another plane as described as follows FPT / FPF.

I think that this is the guy NPTF SAE j476a.

But I'm not sure.

Help.

RE: FPF thread urgentttt!!!

I think it stands for forged pipe fitting, with an FPT thread.

At one end is the union NPT and the other is FPF, the detail is that internet and revised eh not found the meaning of the abbreviation FPF but I think it's kind of NPTF.
I would like to confirm this idea.

RE: FPF thread urgentttt!!!

Is the union onto two bits of steel or is one a hose of some sort?

I've seen fpf as female press fitting but it's clearly something quite strange so you'll need to go back to the designer or ask a vendor.

A bit more of the drawing would help....

He end of the union (FPT), is connected to the tube and the end "FPF" is connected to nipples and valves.

The image above represents the Union, what I need is to know the detail of the thread to equipment and realize or import.

RE: FPF thread urgentttt!!!

Left-hand, right-handed female pipe threads?

I have not seen that abbreviation before.

RE: FPF thread urgentttt!!!

FPT: female (internal) National Pipe Taper threads

NPT Thread Data NPTF (Dryseal USA - American - Standard Taper Pipe Thread)

NPTF is a tapered thread used for pressure tight joints; designed to seal pressure-tight joints without the necessity to use sealing compounds. There are two types of NPTF threads: "Type 1" and "Type 2". It is necessary to specify the Type when ordering.

RE: FPF thread urgentttt!!!

My last go. Looking at the drawing it looks like the fpf is a straight thread compared.to the fpt. So maybe the F is flat and the T is taper.

It only really makes a difference if youve got one end different from.the other so just choose NPT or BSP.

In the end you really need to ask whoeverit was that called it off in this way.

Well so far I'm leaning more to the NPTF thread, but it seems a good idea to assume so if conical or straight.

Thanks for all the replies.

RE: FPF thread urgentttt!!!

Uh, with 3000# fittings, you should not be assuming anything; too many ways to get killed.

As noted, call the person who made the drawing and ask them.

Please tell us what you find out so the story will have an ending.

Thank you.
