Gas Pressure - Need Switch that engages when pressurized
Gas Pressure - Need Switch that engages when pressurized
(OP)
Hey Guys.
I am looking for a switch or a sort of system that when pressurized, a switch will engage. I know there are simple pressure switches out there. But I cannot find on that I am looking for in particular.
The gas tube will pressurize with about 10-15k PSI. The gas travels down and 11" stainless steel tube.
I need there to be a mechanism at the end that when pressurized a piston will expand or engage. I just need the switch to activate when pressurized and release when pressure is gone.
Do any of you know of a system like this that I could use. Needs to be fairly small with the area that I will be using.

I.e., the pressure containing structure may deflect enough to trip a microswitch without needing a seal or piston.

If you are talking about a tube that's 11 inches long, not 11 inches in diameter, you could introduce a loop, turning the tube itself into a crude Bourdon tube.
If you are talking about a tube that's 11 inches in diameter, you've basically got a cannon barrel there.
In either case, you would be money ahead to engage some local engineering help, since you appear to be in way over your head, no offense intended.
