Stapled Connections

(OP)
Does anyone have any references or information about staple capacities in structural applications (osb gusset to 2x wood framing)?
Apparently the NDS is mum on the situation.

RE: Stapled Connections

Chapter 23 of the IBC has diaphragm shear values for stapled plywood.

RE: Stapled Connections

We have it here in Canada as well but only under the PWF foundation manual CSA-S406. I don't believe the CSA-O86 has values yet.

RE: Stapled Connections

If you haven't found it already, ISANTA has a current evaluation report, ESR-1539, with staple capacities. ISANTA may have additional information on there website: http://www.isanta.org/

RE: Stapled Connections

Yeah I did some research into this a while back. I think I ended up using the equations in the ESR-1539 report. Bascially they are treated like nails using the staple diameter so basically 2x nail strength for each staple (if I am remembering correctly)
