Oil containment and separation criteria
Oil containment and separation criteria
(OP)
NFPA 850, the separation distance considers the oil containment edge (foundation, catch basin, bund....etc) without the consideration of gravel presence.
IEC-61936-1, gives the separation criteria from internal foundation edge, with no consideration for gravel.
I know that gravel is used mainly to suppress oil fire and don't know that the oil inside a catch basin will still continue to burn with gravel on top of it. Any clues?
