Nozzle inside Flange

Nozzle inside Flange

Nozzle inside Flange

(OP)
Hello all,

Has anyone heard/read about a nozzle attached to a flange?
There is a pressure vessel and the contractor would like to create a manhole. Unfortunately a nozzle that is blinded off, running a line of 4" pipe on the opposite end through the pressure vessel, is in the way. The contractor would like to cut around the blinded off 4" nozzle and insert a 24" manhole and extend the 4" nozzle through the manhole.

My question is, how (if possible) can I find the information necessary to apply this alteration?

Thanks in advance

RE: Nozzle inside Flange

Can be done and will require an R stamp. Assuming this is a coded vessel calculations will be required to confirm...
