OPEN/NX - Use of STL Segmentation (Primitives Identification)

OPEN/NX - Use of STL Segmentation (Primitives Identification)

OPEN/NX - Use of STL Segmentation (Primitives Identification)

(OP)
Hi, I need to use NX OPEN to build a tool to extract data from STL files and modify a CAD model according to the data extracted from the STL.

One of the first operation that i need to perform is the detection of primitives. I tested it directly on STL (not with OPEN, just using the software), but i need to know if the data obtained in the segmentation (coloured regions) are accessible and usable. I mean: is the information about the triangles groups of the STL stored somewhere and usable in OPEN?

Once again I am sorry if these are trivial questions, I am just starting to learn Visual Basic and OPEN.

Thanks.

RE: OPEN/NX - Use of STL Segmentation (Primitives Identification)

Go through the interactive steps again, but this time with Journal Recording turned on). Look in the journal file to see what functions were called. It looks like NXOpen.Facet.FeatureExtractionBuilder.GetExtractedRegions might do what you want.
