Dust Collection Unit on Mezzanine

Dust Collection Unit on Mezzanine

Dust Collection Unit on Mezzanine

(OP)
This dust collector is a camfil 'lowboy' situated on a mezzanine over a small woodworking shop (used for training - no production). The shop will have all the standard woodworking equipment..table saws..planer..bandsaw etc. Is a dust conveyance system required to empty the collector dust bin, or will it be possible to empty the bin into bags and carry the dust down for disposal. Thanks.

RE: Dust Collection Unit on Mezzanine

Cjrac,
If you have this unit, ( see attachment, lower unit on page ) you should be able to carry the half drum sized container down the stairs to dump it, I would not recommend transferring the dust to bags , you will just make a mess. If you have to keep the extractor in operation , buy a second collection bin.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

RE: Dust Collection Unit on Mezzanine

Check your local codes, if it's not mentioned, it's not required. Generally tho, the required conveyance would be from the saws, planers etc to the collection bin. How it is disposed of from there is more a matter of what suits the site conditions best.
