License Error when selecting "Edge Blend"?

License Error when selecting "Edge Blend"?

License Error when selecting "Edge Blend"?

(OP)
One of my users is randomly getting a "NX License Error: Cannot find license file. Check that SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER is set correctly.[-1]" error when clicking on the "Edge Blend" icon. He's modeling a part and can do most everything, including edge blends sometimes, but after a while when he wants to add a blend, this error message pops up when he clicks the icon and he is then unable to apply the blend. The workaround is restarting NX, but obviously that can't be a permanent fix. Any thoughts/suggestions?

He's on Win7 64 bit and using NX 9.0.3.4.

Thanks in advance.

RE: License Error when selecting "Edge Blend"?

Call GTAC and have them look at your license file and server as well as the 'lmtools' settings.

RE: License Error when selecting "Edge Blend"?

Hi,
Although it would be good if you contact GTAC but will it be possible for you to share the log file also.
Also check Server Status and Server Diag tabs in the lmtools utility that might give you a hint too.

RE: License Error when selecting "Edge Blend"?

Does he have multiple network adapters ?
Running on wifi instead of cable ?

Make sure that he has a steady network, such that the license calls comes from the same IP address.

If this would be the problem, it will be detectable in the license log file . See the licensing directory and when that error has occured ( quite soon after) open the logfile. The error is at the bottom of the log.
the default name of the logfile is "splm_ugslmd.log".

Regards,
Tomas
