Thanks a lot Bimr,

can you please share if you ever had experienced such system in Thermal power plant.

Can you suggest on how to estimate the heavy metals contained in Ash pond run-off water?

We dont have any details as such regarding heavy metal in the ash.

RE: Heavy Metal removal from run-off water from Ash pond

There is no generic analysis because the contaminants are in the coal that the plant is burning. Each coal is slightly difference as is the metallurgy of the power plant.

The attached document has ranges for the contaminants. Use the median value as an estimate.

Dear BIMR,

Thanks a lot. That means, in absense of heavy metal data, I can use this data as a assumption for the sizing of treatment plant.

Yes, would think so.

Yes you can. But it is advisable to check the carbon analysis for heavy metal content and accordingly adjust the pH of water.
Here I considered heavy metal removal by pH correction method.
