I have a curved fastening flange with equally-spaced rivet holes, which was created using the hole wizard and a curve-driven pattern with equal spacing turned on.

The curve-driven pattern feature has the option of dimensioned spacing, however when using the "equal spacing" option, there doesn't appear to be a way to measure the arc length between nodes along the surface.

All holes are designed to go through normal to surface, rather than orthographically projected from X plane.

In the factory, the operator will be measuring from hole to hole to ensure consistent spacing between them, and dimensioned from each terminating edge.

What is the correct way to dimension the spacing between holes normal to a curved surface in a drawing? In orthographic views, the holes appear to get closer together and the dimension shrinks as the surface sweeps away from the view and approaches tangent. The design intent is for all the holes to be spaced evenly along the surface.

Well there is no option to add a dimension to the pattern once you use equal spacing. So IMO you should measure the distance between the holes center to center (8 decimal places) and paste that dimension into the dimension space (instead of using equal spacing) and then you will get your dimension.

The other thing you will want to do is turn in an Enhancement request to have the ability to add a reference dimension if you use Equal spacing.

You could try to create axis's (axises?) through each hole and dimension the angle in respect to each other.

Your end user will be using a print and you are creating the solid. Add the dimension to the print.
