Selecting elements

Selecting elements

Selecting elements

(OP)
Hello!

I am performing a transient thermal analysis (welding, to be more specific). I am trying to use the Birth and Death technique and so far all I could do is to kill the elements of the weld bead. Now I want to reactivate them... I have two ideas that I would like to test but I have no idea about how to make it... using APDL commands.

1) Reactivate all elements under influence of the heat source.
The heat source is described by a function. So I wonder how could I select the elements under the influence of a equation.

2) Reactivate all elements below 1500°C.
This would be the best! But I don't have any idea about how to make it.

Can anyone give me some tips? That would be really appreciated!
