thread237-332610: Rotor bar melt down
I believe we can get a solution to your rotor melt problem. But there is more information that i need to know. How many rotor and stator slots has this motor got and is the rotor skewed or not?

RE: Melt Rotor

Uh, That thread is three years old. The Original Poster has not visited Eng-Tips for over 1 1/2 years.

RE: Melt Rotor

I worked for Bogainville Copper in Papua New Guinea
The crushers would quite often bog down, if the operator was pushing tonnage they would run a 400 HP motor at 400 HP 24/7. If they bogged and operator reset the motor trip several times in succession, I have seen pools of copper where the rotor bars melted.
Of course they knew better but you couldn't stop them.
