Idealized part in advanced simulation

Idealized part in advanced simulation

Idealized part in advanced simulation

(OP)
This is a very easy question, but I'm starting with it.

I'm trying to idealize a part so inside the fem_i model I promote the solid before modifying it; after it I click in the fem model and here's the problem: the part is exactly as before, I mean, there's no modification or with others words the idealized part doesn't promote, so I can't both mesh or simulate idealized part.

This video shows you what I'm trying to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giioqGdwQ1Q

I hope you understand me, sorry for my English.

RE: Idealized part in advanced simulation

Hi Lorente9,

This might due to the old geometry has already been imported to the fem file, while the new idealized geometry has not. In order to import the new idealized geometry, try below:

1.In the Simulation Navigator in the fem file, right-click on the top node , for example xyz_fem1.fem
2. Choose Edit...

3. In the Edit FEM dialog box, click on Edit Bodies to Use
4. Select the new idealized geometry in the smaller display window popped up.
5. Click OK.

P/S: If you do not use the old geometry, you can use the above procedure and de-select the old geometry.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Tuw

Thanks Tuw, that helped me and now is fine.
