Friends,

I have a doubt regarding one of our pressure vessel R stamp requirement..The vessel installed on 2013 and it is U stamped and Heat treated. Now during internal DPT it was found approx 6 mm crack at 6 location fillet weld Connecting internal vane pack support to shell. The vessel is SA516 mtrl and cladded with Incoloy 825,3.5 mm. Now the doubt is whether this weld repair require R stamp. Also the WPS for Incoloy given by client shows PWHt and preheat. The support mtrl also Incoloy 825.Pls comment.

RE: R stamp required or not

It appears the weld is on the shell, R Stamp required as metengr replied. The provider of the R Stamp will need to work it out with the AI.
